Welcome to the Wilcox FitBit Challenge!
New Year, New Goals. A common resolution is to be more active, eat healthier and overall, become more fit. What better way to do that than with a friendly office competition? We've divided everyone that has a FitBit (or similar device) into two teams. Both teams are a mixture of our Mississauga and Hamilton offices.
This competition starts on Monday at 12:01 AM, ending on Friday at 11:59PM. Each team has a leader that is responsible for posting the total number of steps by noon each day. This will allow both teams to know where they stand and see if they can out-do each other. The team leader will post final scores by Saturday and the winning team will be revealed next week! Stay tuned to see this competition unveil. Good luck to all participants & Happy Stepping!

After Walk-A-Saurus Rex won the Fitbit Challenge, our team decided to continue with a very spirited battle of the sexes! Looks like the ladies - plus our General Manager, Mike - are taking the lead!
Making the Inaccessible, Accessible We're proud to introduce this month's volunteer, Tom Cunningham, our Business Development Coordinator. Tom chose to volunteer at this year's Edit: Design Expo in support of March of Dimes; "programs and services to maximize the independence and community participation of children & adults with disabilities." But why did he choose to support this cause? "Tom Cunningham (too tall) as he is affectionately known, was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis (JRA) from his jaw to his toes at the age of 5. Forty-nine years later, he has been hospitalized about 40 times and had 4 hips, 4 knees and 2 shoulders replaced. Tom endures constant, chronic pain in 3 to 6 joints at all times, ranging in severity from day to day achiness." For over 65 years, March of Dimes has provided services from the medically-fragile, to seniors, families, caregivers, employers and health insurance companies. As you can imagine, Tom must overcom…
Rain, Rain, Go Away! Don't you hate getting gusts of rain/snow in and around your loading dock? Dock levelers become slippery, products get damaged, overall leaving you feel unsafe or uncomfortable.. That's what this high-volume shipping facility was faced with as the cold weather began to hit. With their busiest season underway, they couldn't risk any slow-downs! Although all 51 dock seals were in great condition, we were challenged to provide a solution that prevented the ingress of rain and snow. Truck staging was often less than ideal so a solution was needed that would also take that into account.
Solution: Dock Canopies were the most effective solution. Wilcox supplied and installed canopies to fit the existing building facade recesses. However, timing was tight as the project was to be completed in just under a month.
The canopies were designed to fit over the existing dock seals which helped to speed up the installation process and resulted in a tighter seal for the ope…
